The Prom
Trinity University's Department of Human Communication and Theatre and the Department of Music present the hit musical comedy THE PROM from Nov. 3 -11 in The Stieren Theatre. This 2019 Drama Desk Winner for Outstanding Musical features music by Matthew Sklar, book & lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and book by Bob Martin.
Four eccentric, washed-up Broadway stars decide they need to re-brand themselves as celebrity activists! They stumble across a news article about an Indiana high school prom that was canceled when a student wanted to bring her girlfriend as her date. On a mission to change lives, the Broadway divas rush to Edgewater, Indiana, only to find their own lives changed as much as those of the people they meet there. THE PROM is a big, campy, classic musical with a modern message of inclusivity and acceptance. Trinity Theatre's production is directed by Nathan Stith, with music direction by James Worman, choreography by Zsa Zsa DuBose, scenic design by Martha PeƱaranda, costumes by Kellie Grengs, and lighting by L. Andrew Lopez.
THE PROM performs in The Stieren Theatre. Admission is free, with general admission seating.
Performances run Nov. 3 thru 11: Fri/Sat at 8 pm; Wed/Thu at 7 pm; Sunday at 2:30 pm
